Carrying on with our love of copper shells… as of late 2024, we’re into the seamless, beaded, brushed finished kind. You should be too. Seriously.
Wow. From the first note, these drums have it all… resonant, dark tones, woody like control/thickness in sound and of course all of the presence, sensitivity and cut you would associate with metal shells.
The shell sings low… Ok, so the shell’s low fundamental sustaining note (before it goes into our suspended tuning system) tells us just how versatile this part of the instrument will really be. Tuned low, there’s all the response in the world… then up and up she goes… a full, wide bodied sound to articulate any nuanced ghost stroke along with a solid, guitar amp cutting rim shot… all with a sweet, sweet snare tone.
Even if you have a few Sleishman snares, you need this one of these as well. It’s really that simple.
