This incredibly versatile African Bubinga 14×5.5 is in a league of it’s own.
Finished in clear satin lacquer, the unigue bubinga grain is striking.
Bubinga is a dense timber (approx 50% harder than maple), so in making this ply shell a solid 10mm in thickness, you’re getting a number of characteristics out of this weighty beauty.
It’s resonance transfers into very clear notes from low to high pitching. The 10mm thickness adds a really strong body to the drum sound, giving you a really clear ‘voice’ in the mix.
It’ll tune up to gun shot volume.
Bubinga loves tension. So if you want to tune it up, you’re going to get really powerful bite and articulation going to your snare strokes.
Twenty strand phosphor bronze snare wires compliment by providing a nice, warm snare sound with plenty of attack.
Rim shots along with rim clicks are super clean and bright – and that’s with the 2.3 triple flange hoops.
