We’re proud to announce that Fxpansion (leading independent music software developer), have just released a set of great sounding Sleishman drum samples, as part of their latest BFD2 offering.

Recorded by John Emrich at Omega Studio’s, Washington, DC, these samples highlight the sustain and tone of Sleishman drums and give BFD2 users another array of brilliant drum sounds to create their music with.
John has been at the forefront of drum recording and ‘edrum’ technology for some time now.
His comprehensive sample session included one of our ‘Maple Classic’ kits (prototype for the new Omega Series) as well as a Rosegum 13x7, Acrylic 14x6 and Maple 10”x4” Snares
The ‘ocean fade’ maple kit consisted of 10x8, 12x9, 14x12, 20x16 BD and a 14x5.5 Snare.

Attention to detail in the drum sample business is truly amazing. As this was the first time we’ve been involved in this area, we were blown away with the amount of time and energy that goes into getting supreme quality drum sounds for sample release.
John recorded the kit with both sticks and rods. The 14x5.5 snare was taken with a ton of velocity layers. The BFD2 pack consists of a bunch of additional rim shot and rim click articulations.
For a good insight to the process and technology involved in John’s sample session (as well as the story of how the session came about), watch http://il.youtube.com/watch?v=rGO-HOtGFEU

We certainly hope that this is the first of many Sleishman drum samples to come out under the BFD2 banner.
